Elon Musk’s Tesla Diner Debuts in Los Angeles, Blending Nostalgia with Innovation

Tesla has opened a retro-futuristic diner in Los Angeles, blending classic American diner style with modern tech. Elon Musk praised the new spot on X and hinted at plans to expand it globally.

Elon Musk shared a video of the diner on X, expressing confidence in its success and stating that Tesla may expand the concept to major cities and Supercharger locations worldwide, combining dining, entertainment, and EV charging.

Elon Musk first announced plans for the Tesla Diner in 2018, envisioning a retro drive-in with roller skates and rock music at a Supercharger site in LA. Construction on the diner began in late 2023.

The Tesla Diner serves classic comfort food like burgers, hot dogs, wings, and hand-spun milkshakes in Cybertruck-themed packaging. It also features a drive-in movie experience with large outdoor screens, where visitors can listen through their Tesla car’s sound system.

Tesla drivers can order food through their in-car screens while charging at the diner, which offers 80 Superchargers, enabling visitors to charge their vehicles while enjoying meals and entertainment.

Tesla’s humanoid robot Optimus was spotted serving popcorn inside the diner, highlighting the tech-focused atmosphere that content creator Jacklyn Dallas described as a “paradise for tech lovers.”

After years of construction, the Tesla Diner and Supercharger station in downtown Hollywood officially opened on July 21st. A special pre-opening event celebrated first responders and offered a first full look at the venue, which combines a cutting-edge Supercharger station, a retro drive-in movie theater, and a tech-filled restaurant with Tesla’s signature culture and fun.
