Singer Taylor Swift Announces Her Album “Midnight” In The Last Moments Of The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards

Taylor Swift looks right on the first female US artist in history to have her songs tenanted all positions in the topmost 10 singles chart in the United States.

Thus, she surpassed her American compatriot Drake, who previously held the record for the top 9 songs in the list of the top 10 singles in September 2021.

And before that, the Beatles held the record for the best eight songs in the list of the top 10 songs in 1964.

Swift’s dominance on the US charts is credited to her latest album, Midnight, which became the fastest-selling release of 2022.

The boom heavenly body tweeted, “10 gone away of 100 well-liked Music??? On the 10th album??? I’m in ecstasy.”

The 32-year-old singer took first place on the list with her single “Anti Hero”, which quickly became popular on TikTok.

The rest of the list includes songs from her albums like Lavender Haze, Maroon, Snow On The Beach, Bejeweled, and Karma.

All 13 songs on Swift’s regular release “Midnight” make the top 15, with Sam Smith’s “Unholy” at No. 11 and “Bad Habits” by Steve Lacey at No. 12.

The seven additional songs from her latest release, “Midnight” in its remastered and upgraded version, “Deluxe 3 AM”, occupy positions between numbers 20 and 45 on the chart.

Taylor Swift surprised fans when she announced the new album at the last moments of the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, in August.

She set out the album as a history of “13 wakeful nights scattered throughout my activity” and “a trip through dread and sugary dreams”.

This achievement seems to be an indication that the star has returned to the pop songs that she was famous for before the epidemic, after the songs of indie folk music Evermore and Folklore, which were released in 2020.

Part of its success was due to a clever marketing campaign, which saw the album released in multiple countable and collectible formats – including four songs from the vinyl version that make up an hour-long combo.

But the US music magazine Billboard stated that Taylor Swift’s acquisition of the top 10 songs list could have been achieved through views alone, before accounting for sales and radio play.

Midnight debuted at No. 1 on the US albums chart, selling 1.4 million copies – more than 1 million of which were on CD and vinyl, a number almost unheard of in the era of broadcast.

The album similarly tops the list of best-selling albums in the UK with sales estimated at 204,000 copies, making it the first album to break the 200,000 mark since Adele’s Thirty 30 just under a year ago.

Surprisingly, this figure represents the biggest first-week sales of Swift’s career on the UK’s best-selling album chart. Her foregoing greatest was 1989, which sold 90,300 reprints in 2014.

However, it cannot replicate its dominance of the US Top 100 Singles Chart in the United Kingdom, due to UK ranking rules only allowing three songs by a single artist to be in the Textiles 100 at the one and the same time.

Without the restriction, Taylor Swift would have had eight top 10 singles this week in Britain. Instead, she has to settle for number one in the UK Top 10 with “Anti Hero”, third with “Lavender Haze” and fourth with “Snow on the Beach“.

Last week’s No. 1 song “Anholi” by Sam Smith took second place this week, denying Swift a clean sweep at the top of the list.

Taylor Swift almost all Top 10 strike on the US Hot 100

Taylor Swift is now proud of her possession of the list of the 10 best songs among women in the history of the list, as she exceeded the total of 40 songs Madonna, which was the highest of the artist record with 38 songs. Of all the singers, Swift is second only to Drake, who has 59 chart-topping acts in the top 10.

Midnight is also the first album in history to win the top 10 singles.

Taylor Swift also broke records for the most viewed albums in one day on Spotify, Apple, and Amazon Music download sites.

In the United Kingdom, it sold 62,000 copies of the album on vinyl alone – the highest weekly sale of any vinyl album in the 21st century.
